INTRODUCTION
Love, LOVE.
This book contains wisdom, knowledge, and understanding given by the Holy Spirit
and written for modern, urban society.
When reading this work, the Holy Bible and any spiritual information, ask God,
Jesus and/or the Holy Spirit to give you ancient, present and future--wisdom,
knowledge, and understanding and the mysteries with remembrance.
God’s virtues and attributes are in His creation. In His infinite Emanation, He
has embedded His virtues and attributes in us. In this series, we will refer to
them as Sovereignties. This book will help us to activate and embody His
Sovereignties in us. The series also refers to the “flesh soul” which is our
carnal or earthly nature and the “spirit soul” is our spiritual or heavenly
nature.
We are the embodiment of God, made in His image, not only physically, but also
mentally and spiritually. But we are limited in our capacity to be like Jesus
because we limit ourselves.
This book will show how to provide for the human body while allowing the spirit
of God within us to grow. It will allow us to grow our spirit as we redirect our
focus away from the desires of the flesh. This book does not aspire to get us to
turn our backs on the desires of our fleshly bodies, but to reassess the
perceptions with which they have been directed for so many years.
We have to direct our focus primarily to the purposes of God in our lives and in
the lives of those we touch.
The information in this book is not purposed to get you to stop wearing
lipstick, or to stop coordinating your corporate colors, or to stop purchasing
designer suits, but is a helpmeet to get us to recognize what road our
perceptions have lead us onto.
Recognizing where we are is crucial to knowing how to act in the place in which
we exist. Recognizing who we are is crucial to knowing how to act in the space
of our existence and those who come into our space. Recognizing the times in
which we live, is crucial to allowing the Christ to direct our paths into the
perfect path of His purposes for our lives and for the lives which we touch.
As Christians, we must share the revealing knowledge, which the Lord Jesus
Christ is sharing with us!
GROWING
OUR
SPIRIT SOUL
1
GROWING
MY
SPIRIT SOUL
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your
bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable
service.”
Romans 12:1 (KJV)
I
was once asked, “Allen, how do I get my spirit to grow?” That is a very good
question. That question prompted me to write this book. Here is the answer.
LOVE. Put simply, our spirits grow based on the love we have in our hearts and
the lack of self in our being. Love for GOD, love for humankind, love for God’s
creation; life and living is about love.
“And he (Jesus) answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy
heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind;
and thy neighbor as thyself.”
Luke 10:27 (KJV)
It is all about love; the application of love in all areas of our lives—the
emanation of love.
L-O-V-E
L – Let it go! Let go and let love conquer all. Let
go of your inhibitions. Let go of your resentments of yourself and of others.
Let go of your shortcomings; you are who you are. Let go of your bitterness,
envy, hate, jealousy, shame, etc. Let go of petty differences. Turn it all over
to Christ Jesus! Let Him have it. He can handle it. Release yourself, in
releasing others. Forgive us of our trespasses, as we forgive... Grace for
grace.
“And of His fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.”
John 1:16 (KJV)
The battle is not ours, it is the Lord’s. Confess your sins to the Lord, forgive
others, have grace upon them and make an attempt to live a life of holiness.
O – Obedience. Obedience to the Commands of God
(His Voice), Jesus’ Commandments, and the urgings of the Holy Spirit are
paramount to Holy Christian living.
“A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved
you, that ye also love one another.”
John 13:34 (KJV)
The Hebrews were making an attempt to follow approximately 613 laws, governing
everything from sacrificial offerings to permissible foods to social
constraints. Jesus is the fulfillment of the law; all 613 laws. Jesus did not do
away with the Ten Commandments, He added to them, enhanced them and walked as
the fulfillment of the law.
“Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath
fulfilled the law.”
Romans 13:8 (KJV)
It is important to be in covenant with God (relationship), to have the Word of
God in our hearts (read/study the Bible), to fellowship with those called to be
saints of God (go to church), and to obey God (obedience), as
being directed by church leadership, the Messengers of God (Angels), the Holy
Spirit, Jesus, or God as bearing witness to God’s spirit in you.
V – Volunteer. Help others. Visit the sick. Visit a
retirement home. Get involved in a prison ministry. Volunteer in a soup kitchen.
Volunteer at the local hospital. Volunteer at the elementary school.
“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his
friends.”
John 15:13 (KJV)
Get involved in the community. Volunteering is guaranteed to help you feel
better about you and to empower God’s Sovereignty of Love in us.
“For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no
drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not:
sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer him,
saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked,
or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer
them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the
least of these, ye did it not to me.”
Matthew 25:42-45 (KJV)
E – Evolve. Evolve and grow. Grow in Christ. Excel
and evolve to the next level. Read and study your Bible daily. Pick one chapter
and read it for thirty days in a row; then pick another one. Fast—there is power
in fasting!
Pray daily. Have “instant prayer”. When you see someone with a need—stop and
pray for and with them. When you see a need in you or your family—stop and pray
right then!
Go finish your diploma, that next degree, work towards that promotion; better
yourself. Take a course you have wanted to take. Speak it in and walk in that
thing—God will provide!
Make a plan to read a specific number of books each year. Make some attainable
goals. Set career goals. Set spiritual goals. Set physical goals. Exercise, play
an instrument, or climb a mountain!
Life is positive momentum, when we live it. Live life to its fullest. Growing
“stronger” spiritually involves obedience, discipline, patience, sacrifice, and
above all love. Be like Jesus!
